From Park to Pit - Ramble through the Rhondda this June for Macmillan Rhondda
Heritage Park, nr Pontypridd, is pleased to support the Macmillan Rhondda Walk
once again. The popular tourist attraction is urging people in the Rhondda
to pledge to walk 11 miles on Saturday 12 June 2010. The Rhondda Walk, now
in its 2nd year, sets off from Tynewydd Park, Treherbert continuing down the Rhondda
Valley through Treorchy, Ystrad, Tonypandy and Porth before finishing at the Rhondda
Heritage Park. Nicola Newhams, Business Development & Events Manager
at the Rhondda Heritage Park added, "Rhondda Heritage Park is delighted to
once again support the Macmillan Cancer Charity Walk. This is our second year
of supporting such an important charity and we would urge anyone out there to
get involved - no matter how small - every effort can make a huge difference". Debbie
Jones, Fundraising Manager, said "The Rhondda Walk raised an incredible £7,000
last year for people affected by cancer and their families in the area. This year
we hope to attract an even larger number of people to get together, put their
walking boots on, have fun and get healthy, and at the same time raise even money
to help local people living with cancer". So come and get involved with
the Rhondda Walk now! Register for only £10, and you will receive a fundraising
pack in the post, together with a t-shirt and goody bag on the day. For more information,
